Press Release
December 6, 2010
On 12/5/10 at approximately 1:45 am officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to Super 8 Motel on Johnstonville Road for a report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that an attempted robbery had just occurred.
The night clerk inside the lobby of Super 8 Motel reported to the police that a white male adult entered the motel lobby and told the clerk that it was a robbery, demanding the clerk give him the cash. The clerk told the police that the suspect claimed he had a weapon, and displayed what appeared to the clerk to be a hollow piece of pipe and not actually a weapon. After a brief exchange of words, the suspect fled the motel on foot with no cash. An extensive search of the area ensued without locating the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, in his 20’s, about 5’10” tall with a medium build. The suspect at the time of this incident was wearing a black ski mask with openings cut out for the eyes, a black nylon jacket and dark pants.
The Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with this case. If you have any information regarding this incident, please stop by the Susanville Police Department at 1801 Main St., or call our dispatch number at (530) 257-2171.
